Definition

Familiar Favorites are those foods and flavors that are in the top 25th percentile for both the percentage of consumers who love it and know it. Broadly speaking, these are the most well-known and well-loved foods and flavors.

Use Case

At Datassential, you'll often hear us talk about "safe innovation," which is the idea of pairing new foods and flavors with more ubiquitous ones - for example, taking something well-known and well-loved like a pizza, and topping it with a unique, earlier-stage flavor like chimichurri or honey balsamic. Familiar Favorites does the work for you by providing you with a list of the most popular foods, which are often volume-drivers on menus and strategic pairings for something new.
